WHO AM I AND WHAT IS "TROUSEW" ALIAS "MAD COUTURE & COLLECTION"?

Having hands on experience in the fashion and Home Decor industries for a few decades, it has really inspired me to give birth to Mad Couture & Collection. The name stands for “Mon Atelier De Couture” and “My Adorable Collection” renamed as "TrouSew". Although there is a personal story attached to these epithets, the idea behind my brand and this website is basically to provide an online platform for my exclusive sewing services to the audience and showcase my own creative collection together with other ready-made garments and fashion accessories that anyone can benefit from here regardless of your location.
I am The Creator and Owner of this idea following a Love Affair I have had for a very long time.

Fallen in Love with my Passion
I have a love affair with my passion. I really love what I do. Anything about colours, fabric, crafts, nature, food has always inspired me since I was a child. It was the ability to create something new and fresh out of anything that fascinated me. I realised very early creativity was my passion.
MY STORY
My Love Affair! How It All Started
I credit to my mother for assisting and supporting me
Each one of us comes in the world with some unique gifts that we get the chance to develop at a very early age in our life. I entered the world of Fashion through my gifted sewing skills and unique talents for attention to details and creativity when I was only 10 years young. My mother has been an amazing creative force in my life. I certainly inherited all my creativity traits from her. I used to watch my mother make beautiful outfits for us for every occasion with so much love, care and creativity. She could turn around a piece of fabric magically with her ideas through the night for us despite her hectic lifestyle. Even though she was a School Teacher, her life was not an easy one and while money was a big concern back then when we were growing, among a million other things, she also undertook part time work from home sewing garments for people to earn some cash.
I was so fascinated by her in many ways, especially when it came to her involvement in sewing. My deep interest and enthusiast for transforming fabric into something creative gave me immense satisfaction and joy regardless of what was going around. My mind would go crazy with ideas and it was not long before I started to create and produce made to measure outfits for fellow female beings of all ages in my area where I lived in Mauritius at the age of 14 during my high school. The trend in Mauritius has mostly been towards wearing custom made garments with unique styles and designs. Both men and women have worn made to measure garments for eras. It might have slightly changed recently due to the modern western influence.
My mother’s guidance really helped me to create my own unique and exclusive standard of work in climbing the ladder of success in this field when I was building my career in Mauritius. I am very grateful to all the people including family members and relatives as well as those outside my circle of influence, who put their trust in me and my ability when I started on this path. Without them, I would not have achieved what I did in this field.

MOVING TO ADVANCE INTO AN UNKNOWN WORLD
Life brings to us possibilities and opportunities every moment on our paths but it takes a wise person to identify them and make the best of each. It took me a while to realise this. When we come across something new, we have fear of the unknown and most times we either freeze in scare or take the leap to venture ahead. Other times, we have no other choice than to experiment with the new. No path unfolds easily but it certainly reveals experiences to make us grow and move us to advancement on our journey whether the path taken is in despair or by choice.
SURVIVAL TO DESIRED PATH
Taking The Slip Road with No Short Cuts
Moving to England for further studies was not an easy choice. While my plan was to move ahead in the world of Fashion the way I wanted it here, it was not long before things took a drastic turn and instead of creating my own brand and throw myself into the successful path I had in mind, I found myself on the road of struggle and survival. Things were different here, totally improvised and difficult. I was completely lost when I got here and it took a good few years to rethink over my plans. The only way I could get into expanding myself was through soft furnishings in the home interiors. Like the saying goes- Everything happens for a good reason....regardless. It did for me too when I entered the world of Home Interiors.
BABY STEP
Unexpectedly Long Time To Get Here
Although it took me unexpectedly long to start Trousew (Mad Couture & Collection), it is still a baby step for me to where I want to be from here with the idea in mind. With the changing world, who knows this could be a success with your support and involvement. I’d always have repeated clients through referrals and word of mouth advertising who gave me regular business over years without having any need for a website or advertising myself and what I do. In this changing and evolving era of internet and technology, it has never been so easy for anyone to make themselves, their skills and abilities known to the wider audience. With what is going on around altogether, it has never been a better time for me to provide the exclusive services you are about to discover here that anyone can benefit from on this platform no matter where you are.

Whether it is a simple outfit, a trousseau project or an ordinary to complex home decor undertaking, I work with each one of my customers to create a fashion design that suits them, providing a feeling of uniqueness, quality, and beauty. I pride myself on always leaving my clients feeling great about their new look or their transformed space.

I have worked closely with individual clients, designers and contractors, curtains and soft furnishings companies in Mauritius and England for many years where creating and making Children’s and Women’s clothing apparel as well as Soft Furnishings and various styles Window Treatments has been my field of expertise. The vast knowledge and experience I acquired with time dealing with people from all walks of life, cultures and communities has led me to the observation that there is a need to explore further into the way Sewing services are provided in the market to the norm.

While most people are often inclined to wearing ready-made garments and tend to follow the market trend where conformity is the norm in the Western culture, there is still an extensive need for bespoke tailoring for those of us who are accustomed to made-to-measure garments. Many times when we buy clothes we like from the shops, they do not fit us the way our body shapes and we end up stocking clothes that does not look good on us, hoping someday they will but eventually they pile up in our wardrobe without us realising the money we wasted, just because we either didn’t find a seamstress or tailor who could do the alteration for us, or we didn’t have the time nor the skill to do it ourselves.
